How it all started...
Fellowship Bible Church began in 1982, when six families came together in the Harrah-Newalla area. Eventually the Lord blessed FBC with a building located on Highway 270, between McLoud and Harrah. Years later as the church grew, the Lord was again gracious in our being able to obtain the property we now inhabit at 501 N. Harrah Road and has allowed us to expand and grow since that time. Our history is filled with God's Grace, and we continue to seek His glory in all we do, knowing that all we have is given as a stewardship with which we aim to be faithful in service to Christ.
Where we are headed...
We are a church of normal people pursuing faithfulness to an extraordinary God. In a world where so many are chasing greatness, striving to be unique, we are simply striving to be faithful.
In Galatians 5:16, we read, "But I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh." And in verses 22-26, the Apostle continues to say, "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become those with vain glory, challenging one another, envying one another." (LSB)
Ultimately, the question "where are we headed" is answered, not by saying what we do as much as communicating for that which we are ultimately striving and that can best be summed up in Paul's command in Ephesians 4:1, where he says "Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk worthy of the calling with which you have been called"
With God's help, we are pursuing a worthy walk, by emphasizing sound doctrine through the preaching and teaching of the word, evangelism and making disciples, and pursuing holiness, all for the glory of God.
